Available data suggest that channels gated by the N-methyl-z~-aspartate (NMDA) subclass of glutamate receptors may be gated by the N-methyl-z~-aspartate (NMDA) subclass of glutamate receptors, which has been linked to lethal influx of extracellular Ca e+ through cell mem- brane channels.
