Summary
YAP overexpression increases, while YAP depletion decreases, p73-mediated apoptosis following DNA damage, in an Akt inhibitable manner, and Akt phosphorylation of YAP may thus suppress the induction of the proapoptotic gene expression response following cellular damage.
