It is suggested that aggregate-precursors may be the initial culprits in ageassociated proteostasis decline and aggregate-management in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, suggesting that it may be more beneficial for the cell to prevent aggregates from forming than eliminating the ones already formed.
