Summary
The endogenous apolipoprotein E (apoE) gene is inactivated by using gene targeting in mouse embryonic stem (ES) cells by using two targeting plasmids, both containing a neomycin-resistance gene that replaces a part of the apoE gene and disrupts its structure.
