Summary
Recent insights in structural organization and functional diversification of putative plant SWI/SNF-type chromatin remodeling complexes are summarized and significance of recent findings indicating that in both plants and mammals histone H1 is involved in determining patterns of DNA methylation at selected loci is discussed.
