Summary
Experimental evidence is presented for the production of IgE antibody in the liver of rats, in response to allergens arriving via the portal circulation, and there is a growing consensus that a hierarchy exists amongst class II MHC-bearing cells in regard to capacity to trigger T-cell activation.
