Summary

The administration of the NMDA receptor antagonist, MK-801, to rats withdrawn from chronic ethanol, morphine or amphetamine, but not from chronic cocaine, readily reversed the fall in DA output and the reduction in extracellular DA during ethanol withdrawal.
