Summary

The thermosensitivity of site-specific recombination for bacteriophage λ is studied by crosses between phage carrying the appropriate attachment sites or by lysogeny measurements and it is found that the recombination event characteristic of normal integration is extremely thermolabile, whereas the recombinations event of normal excision is not.
