Summary
The treatment of Sprague-Dawley rats with catechin prior to the administration of ketoprofen successfully inhibited oxidative damage and reversed the impairment of the antioxidant system in the intestinal mucosa, suggesting that catechu may have a protective effect on gastrointestinal ulcers.
