Extended Spectrum β-Lactamases confer resistance to third-generation cephalosporins and CTX-M types have emerged as the most prominent ESBLs worldwide and multidrug resistant uropathogenic E. coli strains isolated from HIV patients from South India are screened for virulence associated genes.
