Summary
Theaflavins, polyphenolic ingredients of black tea, were observed to inhibit in vitro lipid peroxidation in the erythrocyte membrane ghost and microsomal systems and it was found that the gallic acid moiety of theaflavin is essential for their potent antioxidative activities.
