Newselective and differential humanbloodbilayer agarmedia withTween80 (HBTmedium) or without Tween80(HBmedium), developed for theisolation of Gardnerella (Haemophilus) vaginalis, permitted significantly higher G.vaginalis production ofhumanblood hemolysis, permitting detection of this organism even inthepresence ofheavy growth ofother vaginal flora.
