Summary
Topology-aided cross-layer fast handoff designs are proposed for Mobile IP over IEEE 802.1.1 networks and experimental results indicate that the whole handoff can meet the delay requirement of VoIP applications when layer-3 handoff activities occur prior to layer-2 handoffs.
