Summary

Three types of surface active glasses and sintered apatite were implanted in femurs of rabbits for 8 and 16 weeks and subjected to the push-out test to measure the bone bonding strength and it was concluded that the crystal chemistry and formation rate of the surface apatites significantly influenced the bonding strength.
