The adherence of five coagulase-negative strains onto polyethylene, nylon and polyvinyl-chloride catheters is determined, after treatment of bacteria, catheter or both with citrated human plasma, human serum albumin or fibrinogen to suggest the possible role of plasma proteins in these infections.
