Summary
A new species from the Atlantic Forest of southern Bahia, which is similar to M. micropetala, but differs in having the inflorescence and basal bracts puberulent, lanceolate bracteds at the base of flowers, longer calyx lobes and petals, and a 3-locular ovary.
