Summary
Although visual field defects respecting the vertical meridian, and without any evidence of distinct disease, are uncommon, neurologists and neuro-ophthalmologists should consider the differential diagnosis if MRI is negative for distinct lesions in the optic chiasm or the postchiasmal visual pathway.
