Summary
It is suggested that Hashimoto's encephalomyelitis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of seizures, coma, atypical migraine and reversible dementia and serum screening for anti-thyroid antibody should form part of the initial investigations in all relapsing and reversible encephalopathies.
