Summary
A mutant human initiator tRNA gene is generated in which the sequence GATCG corresponding to the universal GAUCG found in loop IV of eukaryotic cytoplasmic initiateator tRNAs is changed to GTTCG, and it is shown that this mutation has no effect on in vitro transcription of the t RNA gene in HeLa cell extracts.
