The goal of this program is to experimentally and theoretically investigate the fundamental information capacity of optical communications and to develop revolutionary technology that will enable unprecedented information content, in excess of 10 bits per photon (bpp), while guaranteeing absolute security at high communication rates of 1 Gbps or more.
