Summary
The newly produced amphiploid could be a useful genetic resource for fungal resistance in wheat because it expressed resistance to wheat powdery mildew at seedling and adult stage, and to four leaf rust cultures, including isolate 22762 to which the diploid wild wheat was susceptible.
