Summary
Growth-based models are used to study relationships between sexual size dimorphism and sexual bimaturation in species with asymptotic growth after maturity and show that there are three ways to reduce sexual bIMaturation in sexually size-dimorphic species: higher characteristic growth rates for members of the larger sex, larger size at birth, hatching or metamorphosis forMembers of the smaller sex or smaller ratio of size at maturity to asymPTotic size.
