Summary
The authors have treated subsets of patients with sagittal synostosis and signs of elevated intracranial pressure using modified facial skeletal distractors and an innovative hinge point to create a differential expansion and simultaneous contraction with a resultant improved head shape, enlargement of the calvaria, and, importantly, the creation of new bone at the osteotomy site.
