Summary

The ability of N-amino terminal fragment of the prohormonebrainnatriureticpeptide (NT-proBNP) to predict mortality and first major cardiovascular events in a populationbased sample of older individuals is assessed, and the predictive ability of NT- proBNP with CRP and the urinary albumin/creatinine ratio is compared.
