Summary
The paper by Schleinitz et al (4) in this issue of The Lancet shows that clopidogrel––a thienopyridine erivative with less side effects than its parent compound, iclopidine––reduced the relative risk of ischemic stroke, yocardial infarction, or death from vascular causes in atients with prior cardiovascular disease by 8.7%, as compared with aspirin.
