Summary
Two mutations showing undersized brain lobes, juvenile at mid-third instar (jami) and reduced optic and imaginal expansion (roie) were selected for detailed molecular and genetic analysis and comparison and jami positively regulates CNS growth by both non-cell autonomous and cell-autonomous mechanisms, according to the region and stage.
