Summary

Results of the double-blind, placebo controlled trial of DF in humans with asymptomatic parasitemia provided unequivocal evidence that this iron-chelating agent has antimalarial activity, and data indicate that other orally effective iron chelators may have superior antimalaria activity in vivo.
